Frequently asked questions

The launcher, joining, and building on the network. Still stuck? Try support.

Do I need to install mods manually?

No. The FoundryMTR Launcher installs Java, Fabric, and the exact modpack for you. Manual setup is supported as a fallback if you prefer to match the versions yourself.

Is the launcher safe?

The launcher is open-source (a HeliosLauncher fork, MIT). Official builds come only from files.foundrymtr.com with published checksums. It is currently unsigned, so verify the checksum and allow it past SmartScreen/Gatekeeper on first run.

Why does Windows SmartScreen warn me?

Because the build is not code-signed yet. SmartScreen warns on unfamiliar publishers. Choose “More info” → “Run anyway”, after verifying the download’s checksum. Code signing is on the roadmap.

Can I join without the launcher?

Yes — install Fabric loader for Minecraft 1.21.4, add the FoundryMTR mod set, and connect to mc.foundrymtr.com. The launcher just automates this.

What Minecraft version is required?

Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4 with Fabric. The exact Fabric loader and mod versions are listed on the Play and Downloads pages.

Can I build my own line?

Yes — that’s the point. Found stations, lay track, and extend the network. Read the rules and the build standards first so your line connects cleanly to the shared map.

How do I connect a station to the network?

Coordinate with existing lines, follow the signage and line-colour conventions, and don’t block reserved corridors. The Guides section walks through building a station and connecting routes.

How are updates handled?

The launcher pulls the latest modpack distribution automatically when you start it, so you stay in sync with the server. Notable changes are posted on the Changelog.

Where do I report bugs?

Use the Support page — include your Minecraft username, launcher and modpack versions, and what happened.
