The basics of laying track, placing a platform, and connecting a station to the shared network.

  1. Pick a spot that doesn’t block expansion

    Check the network and coordinate before building near existing lines or reserved corridors. Leave room for future tracks.

  2. Lay track and a platform

    Use MTR-NextGen rails to lay your line and build a platform with clear edges. Keep platform layouts consistent with the network so riders know what to expect.

  3. Add signage and a route

    Set destination signage and a route using the network’s line colours and naming conventions. Don’t reuse a colour already claimed by an active line.

  4. Connect to the network

    Tie your line into an existing interchange cleanly. Once it’s carrying riders, it can be added to the public map.
